President William Ruto party is set to launch United Democratic Alliance School of Leadership

President William Ruto is set to launch a special political school for his United Democratic Alliance party, drawing smart ideas from the way China's Communist Party trains its leaders. This move aims to turn UDA from just a group that wins elections into a strong, lasting institution that grooms committed leaders for today and for many years to come across our beloved Kenya.

The UDA Party School has reached an advanced stage, and right now a high-level delegation led by Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan is in China, specifically at the Zhejiang Provincial Party School in Hangzhou. They are keenly studying the Communist Party's long experience in cadre training, keeping discipline tight, and mobilising people right from the grassroots level all the way up. The team wants to pick the best practices in building strong structures, maintaining order, and developing leaders systematically, then adapt them to fit our Kenyan democratic setup.

This push shows UDA's big ambition to go beyond just hustling for votes every five years. Instead, the party wants to build something permanent that instils clear ideology, nurtures talent, and ensures the same spirit carries on for future generations. Officials insist they are borrowing organisational tricks and training methods that have kept things running smoothly in China for decades, not copying any political system wholesale, since Kenya remains a vibrant multi-party democracy.

The delegation, which includes big names like Senator Danson Mungatana, Women’s Representative Cecilia Ngetit, Senior Adviser Prof. Edward Kisiangani, and Executive Director Nicodemus Bore, arrived in Hangzhou and got a warm welcome. This visit ties into earlier talks and partnerships between UDA and the Communist Party of China, with the goal of making the school world-class and ready to shape leaders who drive real transformation.

All this comes as President Ruto ramps up grassroots efforts, recently bringing together thousands of polling officials in places like Nyeri to solidify the party's base ahead of the next big election. Kenyans are watching closely to see how this new leadership academy will shape the future of the ruling party and our politics. Exciting times ahead for building stronger institutions!
