NATION Intensifies WAR on DRUGS in Line with President William Ruto DIRECTIVES

In a major boost to President William Ruto’s New Year resolution to ruthlessly dismantle drug cartels, multi-agency teams across the country are recording significant breakthroughs, netting traffickers and destroying millions worth of illicit substances.

Acting on precise intelligence, a swift operation was conducted in the upmarket coastal area of Diani, leading to the arrest of a key trafficker. The suspect, identified as Hellen Saru Mwajombo aged 36, was cornered by detectives who first recovered two green gunny bags heavily stuffed with rolls of cannabis.

Upon further interrogation, the suspect led the officers to her nearby residence where an even more shocking discovery was made. A thorough search yielded multiple packages of narcotics, including a black bag and another gunny bag, all filled with cannabis. To cripple the logistics of the trade, detectives also impounded a white Nissan Note, registration number KDS 092K, believed to be the vehicle used in distributing the drugs.

IN NAIROBI CBD HAUL
This coastal operation comes hot on the heels of another major seizure in the capital. In the bustling Nyamakima area of Nairobi CBD, police officers intercepted a lorry and recovered a staggering 90 kilograms of bhang. The operation is part of the National Police Service's intensified, nationwide crackdown aimed at completely disrupting the movement of illegal substances and dismantling the networks behind them.

IN BUSIA ILLICIT BREW CRACKDOWN
The war is not just on narcotics but also on illicit alcohol, which destroys families. In Busia County, Commander Mr. Abdille Ahmed led a targeted operation in the Nasewa area. Officers arrested one suspect found in possession of approximately 80 litres of a substance suspected to be Chang'aa at her homestead. In a decisive move, a further 1,725 litres of Kangara were recovered and destroyed on-site to prevent any chance of it reaching consumers. The suspect is currently detained at Busia Police Station awaiting arraignment in court.

These coordinated operations across the country send a strong signal that the government is committed to actualizing the President's directive. The security organs have clearly upped the tempo, making it increasingly harder for peddlers and brewers of illicit substances to operate. The public is urged to continue sharing information with authorities through toll-free lines to support this national fight.
